Listen for your events. You must always check in at each event even if you are in the middle of another event. Explain to the person running the event or send a friend to tell them for you. Running events take precedence over field events. High jump takes precedence over all other field events. If it’s time for you to run, tell the person in charge of your field event that you need to run, go run your event, and then immediately return to finish your field event. As soon as you are finished with high jump, go to your other field events to complete them. Stay off the infield as much as possible. Cheer from the outside of the track. Throw away your trash. Zion Belleville Invitational Meet

Our next track meet is this Saturday, April 27 at Belleville East High School at 8:30 a.m. The high school is located 2555 West Blvd, Belleville, IL 62221. The athletes must be on the track and warming up at 8:15 a.m. in their uniforms and running shoes with hair pulled back and free of jewelry. Athletes should be prepared for any weather (i.e., bring hoodies and sweatpants in case of cooler weather, sunscreen, etc).Water and healthy snacks are also a good ideaJ

Our school’s responsibility is to run the long jump and supply someone to watch the exchange zones of the 4x100m relay. Please arrive at 8:20 a.m. if you are helping with an event in the first shift. The meet will hopefully end about 1:30 p.m. so let’s plan on the 2nd shift of workers starting at 11:00 a.m. Here are the volunteers set to work the event:

-exchange zone of 4x100m relay: McLaughlin

          -field event(1st half): Kilzers
-field event(1st half): Parizons

-field event(2nd half): Millers
-field event(2nd half): Niebruegges

If you take pictures, email them to me and I’ll post them on our blog and get them to Ms. Craig for the yearbook!

The athletes must be on the track and warming up at 4:00 p.m. in their uniforms and running shoes with hair pulled back and free of jewelry. Athletes should be prepared for any weather (i.e., bring hoodies and sweatpants in case of cooler weather, sunscreen, etc).Water and healthy snacks are also a good ideaJ

Our school’s responsibilities: 8th Place (last place) timer + triple jump

-timer (1st half): Masters                   -timer (2nd half): Niebruegge
-field event (1st half): Kilzer               -field event (2nd half): DiRosa
