Southern Illinois District Track Meet

Our last track meet is this Saturday, May 4, at Belleville East High School at
10:00 a.m. The high school is located 2555 West Blvd, Belleville, IL 62221. The athletes must be on the track and warming up at 9:45 a.m. in their uniforms and running shoes with hair pulled back and free of jewelry. Athletes should be prepared for any weather (i.e., bring hoodies and sweatpants in case of cooler weather, sunscreen, etc). Water and healthy snacks are also a good ideaJ  Belleville East High School will run a concession stand and we ask that everyone remember to throw away their trash and any trash they see lying around.

The meet will run the same as last meet: ALL HURDLE RUNNERS will run first. Then Seniors (7th & 8th graders) will run the 4x800 relay. After that point, Seniors will do field events while Juniors (5th & 6th graders) do running events. When all Junior running events are finished, Juniors will start field events and Seniors will start running events.

Our school’s responsibility is to run the long jump. Please arrive at 9:45 a.m. if you are helping run the event. Here are the volunteers set to work the event:

          -field event: Fitzgerald
-field event: Miller
-field event: Kaffer
-field event: Di Rosa

If you take pictures, email them to me and I’ll post them on our blog and get them to Ms. Craig for the yearbook!
