Saint Paul’s Lutheran School Hosts 2013 Lutheran Conference Volleyball Tournament

This year, Saint Paul’s had the opportunity to host the Lutheran Conference Volleyball Tournament—our first time ever! It takes a lot of work to host a tournament and we are so thankful to those of you who gave of your time to do so.

An enormous thank you is in order to the individuals who worked to keep our school sparkling clean and ready for our big event. Ted Fedder, Todd Moore, and Dave Meseke have worked tirelessly early morning hours, throughout the school day, and late into the evening to ensure our school building and gym are prepared to handle our events while we are without a custodian. Thank you to Linda Craig for helping assemble programs and assisting our wonderful 5th-8th graders in cleaning/setting up the gym the day of the tournament.

Another immense thank you is due to every single family with children participating in athletics who willingly volunteered to give up many of their evenings handling this tournament as well as other home games. Thank you to those who helped with admissions and the score table. Thank you to the 6th/7th grade families who provided a concession stand for the tournament. A very special thank you to Dave Meseke, Jim Walls, and Chris Gierse who stuck around—even though they don’t have a daughter on the volleyball team—to help clean up and set up for school the next day. Couldn’t have done it without you!

Thanks to our coaches, Jen Wittenberg and Jenni Kaffer, for working with our girls and giving them the opportunity to experience a fun and rewarding volleyball season. It’s been an exciting season to watch! And lastly, thank you to the fans who packed the stands to cheer on our teams! It was great to see so many new faces, as well as our veteran fans, supporting our girls.

This Friday we will recognize our 8th graders and their families—Anna Bequette- daughter of Bill & Melissa Bequette, Rachel Lange- daughter of Tracy & Rhonda Lange, and Sarah Niebruegge- daughter of Harold & Lisa Niebruegge. We will certainly miss these girls and the leadership they have provided our team this year. Good luck with your future endeavors!

It was a successful season and we look forward to improving our team next year. We hope to see a lot of you Friday, Nov. 1, for our 8th Grade Recognition and Staff vs. Tigers Volleyball Game to close out the season.

Thanks again,

Mrs. McLaughlin

End of Baseball Season Thank You!

The baseball season has officially ended and we thank you all for your involvement and support of our Blue Jays team. We hope the boys enjoyed their time and will plan to return next year! Thank you to the coaches, athletes, parents, schools, and fans who made this first season such a success. Special thanks to Coach Jim Walls for acting as head coach and Zion-Staunton for hosting all of our practices. We’re very proud of our boys for entering the Large School Division and taking home a win. We’re confident we’ll only improve next year!

We closed out the season with a Father/Son baseball game which was fun for all involved! Thank you to the fathers, teachers, and coaches who participated in this special night with the boys. In addition to our Father/Son game, we recognized our 8th grade athlete—Brian Parizon—who has participated in Saint Paul’s athletics all these years. He received a black hoodie with his name and sport embroidered on it from the Parent-Teacher League. We’ll miss you, Brian! Thank you for your years with us!
