Volleyball Athletic Contract

Saint Paul's Lutheran School
2012 - 2013 School Year
Athletics Contract
VOLLEYBALL

Dear Athletes, Parents, and Fans;

Welcome to Saint Paul’s Lutheran School’s Athletics Program! We are excited to have you as a valuable member of our athletic program and we hope you gain an incredible experience this season through your participation in our various sports. Please use this first page of the contract as a reference throughout the season. Please return pages 2-3 by the date specified.

What to Know about the Practices:
  • Athletes should arrive at practice on time dressed in loose-fitting clothing, proper running shoes, and with hair tied back away from face
  • Athletes are required to be at all practices
  • If an athlete must miss a practice, the athlete should notify a coach 24 hours in advance
  • If an athlete skips a practice without properly notifying a coach, the athlete will sit out of the next game/meet
  • Coaches will use their own judgment in the case of an emergency

What to Know about the Games/Meets:
  • Arrive at least half an hour before the game/meet is scheduled to begin
  • Wear the required uniform including proper running shoes
  • Do not wear jewelry or face paint
  • Tie hair back away from face

We would also like to encourage parents and fans to take pictures of the athletes competing at their different sporting events. Coach McLaughlin would love to post photos on our sports bulletin board, on our new website, and have some great action shots for the yearbook, too!

What to Expect:
We are in need of parent volunteers for each sporting event. As we would like every parent to have the opportunity to watch their child(ren) compete, we ask that an adult member from each family plans to help at a predetermined number of games/meets (which allows you to attend the rest as a spectator). Do not worry if you don’t know what to do; arrive early so that a coach or Mrs. McLaughlin may train you. We need 6 volunteers for each home game and 4-6 volunteers to work shifts for the Conference Tournament at Metro East Lutheran High School.

Volleyball Volunteers: 1 scorebook, 1 scoreboard, 1 parent to take admission money, and 1 parent at snack bar for all of our home games; 1 parent to keep scorebook for away games; 1-2 volunteers to work shifts at ticket counter for MELHS Conference Tourn. Oct. 20 from 5:00-6:30pm or 6:30-8:00pm.

Dates for volunteering: Aug. 29, Aug. 30, Sept. 11, Sept. 18, Sept. 20, Oct. 2, and Oct. 20
Each athlete’s family is responsible for volunteering at a 3 games/meets. For example: If you or your spouse is unable to volunteer at each home event, perhaps the two of you can volunteer at the same event. We ask that you give of your time in this way so that your child may have the experience of athletics at Saint Paul’s. Please list the date of the games/meets you can help at and the job(s) you would feel most comfortable doing. Mrs. McLaughlin will try her best to give you the job/event you have requested.
Thank you,
Lauren McLaughlin, Athletic Director
