Track Contract

Saint Paul's Lutheran School
2012 - 2013 School Year
Athletics Contract
TRACK & FIELD

Dear Athletes, Parents, and Fans;

Welcome to Saint Paul’s Lutheran School’s Athletics Program! We are excited to have you as a valuable member of our athletic program and we hope you gain an incredible experience this season through your participation in our various sports. Please use this first page of the contract as a reference throughout the season. Please return page 2 by the date specified.

What to Know about the Practices:
  • Athletes should arrive at practices on time dressed in loose-fitting school-appropriate clothing, proper running shoes, and with hair tied back away from face
  • Athletes are required to be at all practices
  • If an athlete must miss a practice, the athlete should properly notify a coach 24 hours in advance.
  • If an athlete skips a practice without properly notifying a coach, the athlete will sit out of the next meet.
  • If an athlete skips a meet without properly notifying a coach, the athlete will sit out of the next meet.
  • Coaches will use their own judgment in the case of an emergency.

What to Know about the Meets:
  • Only 3 meets are on the schedule at this time, but more will follow after the next Conference Athletics meeting on March 19.
    • TBA Conference Relay Meet
    • TBA Conference Meet
    • April 20 Good Shepherd Meet @ Collinsville High School
    • April 27 Zion Meet @ Belleville East High School
    • May 4 District @ Belleville East High School
    • May 11-12 State @ Elwood High School and Concordia, Chicago (only those who qualify)
  • Arrive at least half an hour before the meet is scheduled to begin dressed in uniform
  • Running shoes should be worn (1/8 inch track spikes are permitted, but not required)
  • Do not wear jewelry or face paint
  • Multiple layers of clothing, sunscreen, water, and healthy snacks are always a good ideaJ

We would also like to encourage parents and fans to take pictures of the athletes competing at their different sporting events. Mrs. McLaughlin would love to post photos on our sports bulletin board, on our website, and have some great action shots for the newspaper and the yearbook!

What to Expect:
I am in need of 4 parent volunteers for each meet. I would like every parent to have the opportunity to watch their child(ren) compete, so I ask that an adult member from each family plans to help at 2-3 meets (which allows you to attend the rest of the meets as a spectator). I will train you, so do not worry if you don’t know what to do!

Please let me know which date(s) DO NOT work for you to help. I’ll keep that in mind as I make up the schedule of parent volunteers. Please print/sign your name below and return by Tuesday, March 19.

Track meet date(s) that DO NOT work for me to help are: ______________________________

I have read this contract and agree to follow it.
